Some of the best heavy equipment operators from western New York put their skills to the test for a good cause this weekend. Workers from Buffalo, Syracuse and Rochester were pitted against each other in a tractor rodeo. It was part of a national event celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Case loader/backhoe. While they were competing for the top spot, Monroe Tractor also wanted these machine operators to volunteer their skills. It made a $1,000 donation to Flower City Habitat for Humanity. "Guys are pretty macho and they think they're all really good operators," said Janet Felosky, Monroe Tractor president. “This is how you can separate the men from the boys. You got some guys that can really operate them like people can operate computers. It's an art. These guys make their livelihood running machinery all over the county 24/7." The winner of the local rodeo goes to Las Vegas to compete for the grand prize.
