LITTLE ROCK -- The Arkansas Public Service Commission on Wednesday approved four programs aimed at promoting energy efficiency and conservation within the state.Three of the plans involved joint proposals of Arkansas electric and gas utilities. Those programs include an education program through the Arkansas Energy Office and two weatherization programs to provide residential, commercial and industrial customers with energy audits.The commission also approved efficiency programs for Entergy Arkansas and Arkansas Western Gas Co.A fifth program on statewide energy efficiency education must be resubmitted to the commission.
